Minutes of General Meeting held on July 19, 2001

President Phil Halstead called the twenty-sixth annual general meeting of the International Association of Local Chapter Presidents (IALCP) to order at the 2001 Grand National Rally (GNR).  The meeting began at 11:00 AM in Seminar Tent C in Forest City, Iowa, on Thursday, July 19, 2001.  Carol Johnson presented the invocation and Charles Jones led the Pledge of Allegiance.  President Halstead introduced his wife Shirley Halstead; and the current officers:  Charles and Phyllis Jones, Vice President;  Cliff and Brigitte Gilmore, Secretary;  Bob and Cathy Westbrook, Treasurer; and Everett and Carol Johnson, Directors.  He also introduced Past President Jim and Phyllis Hicks (91-92), Past President Lynn Herndon (87-88), and the WIT General Manager Dennis and Beverly Burkholder.  The President then introduced the following newly elected officers of the International Association of State President:  Al and Alice Carrerow, President;  Bonnie and Robert Miller, Vice President;  Tom and Mary Lawson, Secretary; and Mike and Faye Briggs, Treasurer.

President Halstead thanked Winnebago Industries and General Manager Dennis Burkholder for the excellent breakfast served to IALCP members on Saturday morning.  He emphasized that all members and guests enjoyed the breakfast.  President Halstead expressed a special thanks to all members who served aas volunteers during this year's events.

The President requested the Secretary to read the minutes of the 2000 Annual Meeting of the IALCP.  Before reading could begin, a motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes as distributed without any changes.  The motion was approved.

Two letters of correspondence were read and offered to the membership for perusal after the meeting was adjourned.

The President requested Bob Westbrook, Treasurer, to read the Treasurer's Report.  He announced the balance as of June 30, 2001 was $3,031.23.  The Treasurer reported that the IALCP has 197 members currently.  There being no questions or comments, the President directed the Treasurer's Report to be filed for audit.

The President called on the Audit Committee Chairman Merrill Switzer to give a report of the audit findings conducted by him and Barbara King.  No discrepancies or problems were noted during the financial audit.  President Halstead thanked the Audit Committee for their work and requested the audit to be placed on file.  Merrill stated he had made a recommendation to move the responsibility of preparing the IALCP membership roster from the Treasurer to the Secretary, but it had not been implemented.  He suggested that the roster responsibility be passed to the Secretary effective with this meeting.  The President accepted his recommendation, and directed the change to take place immediately.

There was no old business to be discussed.

The President called on the Nominating Committee to present the slate of new officers and preside ove the voting process for them.  Nominating Committer members included Roger Mays, John Ruehter and Bob Odem.  The following selections were offered:  Charles and Phyllis Jones, President;  Cliff and Brigitte Gilmore, Vice President;  Bob and Kathy Westbrook, Secretary;  Delno and Helen Spellman, Treasurer; and Phil and Shirley Halstead, Directors.  Roger Mays called for any nominations from the floor for each of the offices.  There were no nominations from the floor and all officers were elected by acclamation.  President Halstead thanked the nominating committee for their work and dismissed them.

General Manager Dennis Burkholder then installed the newly elected officers.

Outgoing President Phil Halstead turned the meeting over to Charles Jones, the newly elected President.

NEW BUSINESS:

Lyn Herndon voiced sincere appreciation of the outgoing Directors, Everett and Carol Johnson, who have continuously given outstanding service and support during their years of tenure in each office.

Helen Spellman made a motion to give $100 to the Youth Fund for the 2002 GNR.  The motion was approved by voice acclamation.

A motion was made by Harry Bird to have the IALCP pay for the shirts for new officers.  Mary Lawson seconded the motion.  The notion was passed by voice acclamation.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting.  The motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.
